Key takeaways
- Metro Med Center is in Little China, Watson, not in City Center or the separate historical “Medical Center” locations from earlier Cyberpunk continuities.
- The station serves the Night City Medical Center, a major Trauma Team hospital complex beside Cortes & Ellison.
- After Update 2.1, V can use Med Center as one of 19 NCART stations across five lines, either by riding the train or fast travelling.
- The large hospital is a neighbouring landmark, not a fully explorable hospital interior in the base game.
- The small netrunner scene behind the medical complex is not T-Bug It is an environmental encounter involving another netrunner attempting to access the facility’s systems. Community reports consistently identify the figure as a separate character, sometimes referred to as Lady Space, but the encounter should not be treated as a T-Bug appearance.
- NCART was not available as a usable transport system at the game’s original launch. It became functional with Update 2.1 on 5 December 2023, and the feature is supported on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
About this guide
Scope: Cyberpunk 2077 base game, including the NCART metro feature introduced in Update 2.1. “Metro: Med Center” is treated here as the NCART station and its immediate exterior surroundings, not as the whole Watson district or every location in Little China. The neighbouring Night City Medical Center is covered where it directly affects navigation or the station’s identity.
Overview
Metro: Med Center is an NCART station in Little China, Watson, positioned beside the large Night City Medical Center hospital complex. On the in-game map, it is a fast-travel and metro location marked with the “Metro” prefix. The station is part of Night City’s operational NCART network, allowing V to travel by train or use the station as a fast-travel point once the metro system is available.
The station is easy to mistake for a small, self-contained location. In practice, it sits against one of Watson’s most recognisable structures: a Trauma Team-owned medical complex with a large forecourt, connected buildings, elevated road infrastructure and rail lines built into or around the hospital’s architecture. The wider area is therefore more substantial than the station marker alone suggests.
The station itself has little conventional gameplay content. It is primarily a transport facility and a navigation hub. Most of the surrounding interest comes from the hospital exterior, nearby street encounters, environmental storytelling and the wider Little China streets rather than from a dedicated station mission.
Location and boundaries
The station
Metro: Med Center is the transport node attached to the medical-centre complex. Its practical boundary is the station entrance, platform area and the immediately adjoining exterior space used to approach the hospital and surrounding roads.
It should not be expanded into a complete “Med Center district”. The game’s map places the station in Little China, one of Watson’s sub-districts. The hospital is the dominant landmark, but the surrounding streets remain part of Little China rather than a separate medical quarter.
The Night City Medical Center
The Night City Medical Center is a large hospital complex in Watson, commonly shortened to the Med Center or MedCenter. It is owned and operated by Trauma Team, which gives the building a much more corporate and heavily protected identity than the poorer parts of Watson around it. The hospital is located at or near Cortes & Ellison.
These details make the hospital useful as a visual landmark even when the player is not travelling by metro.
What is not part of the station
The following should be kept separate from Metro: Med Center:
The name “Med Center” has appeared in several Cyberpunk continuities, but the Cyberpunk 2077 location is specifically the Watson medical complex and its NCART station. Earlier tabletop references to Medical Center, Old Med Center, Crisis Medical Center and Trauma Team Tower should not be merged into the 2077 station without qualification.
Access and travel
Unlocking NCART
NCART becomes a usable transport system through Update 2.1. The official patch notes describe a repaired NCART City Pass and access to 19 metro stations on five lines. V can either fast travel between stations or board a train and remain on it while viewing Night City through the carriage windows.
The station is therefore useful in two different ways:
The exact availability of stations can depend on the game version and platform. The NCART feature is a post-launch addition rather than a launch-day base-game mechanic.
Reaching the station on foot
The most reliable approach is to travel towards the large hospital structure in Little China and follow the exterior signage and station access points. The building is difficult to miss because it is much larger and more monumental than the surrounding streets.
Fast travel compared with riding the train
Update 2.1 also allows the Radioport to be used while travelling on foot and while riding NCART, making a train journey a functional sightseeing activity rather than merely a loading transition.
Unlocking NCART
- 01Fast-travel point: Select Med Center from the map to travel there or leave it for another unlocked destination.
- 02Physical metro stop: Enter the station, choose a route and ride the NCART train.
Reaching the station on foot: Practical navigation
- 01Open the map and select Metro: Med Center.
- 02Use the route marker rather than aiming for the centre of the hospital model.
- 03Look for the NCART station entrance and platform access near the forecourt.
- 04If approaching from the surrounding streets, use the hospital’s large parking and road structures as your landmark.
- 05For the environmental scene behind the hospital, circle around the outer perimeter rather than attempting to enter the main medical building.
Fast travel compared with riding the train
| Method | Best use | Limitations |
|---|---|---|
| Fast travel | Reaching another station quickly | Skips the journey and scenery |
| Boarding NCART | Viewing the city, using Radioport, role-playing travel | Takes longer and follows the selected line |
| Driving | Reaching nearby streets or activities | Traffic and road layout can make the hospital entrance less direct |
| Walking | Inspecting the station and exterior details | The complex is large and some routes are visually confusing |
Nearby connections
Little China
Med Center is located in Little China, a Watson sub-district associated with dense streets, commerce, poorer neighbourhoods and a mixture of old and modern urban infrastructure. The hospital stands out because it represents a much more expensive and corporate service than the surrounding district.
Kabuki
Kabuki is nearby, but it is not part of the station’s boundary. The Med Center’s location is sometimes described in relation to Kabuki because the medical complex sits close to that neighbourhood. Treat Kabuki as a neighbouring area reached through Watson’s street network, not as a subarea of Metro: Med Center.
Watson road network
The complex is integrated into Watson’s elevated roads and connecting streets. The hospital’s forecourt and road structures are useful for orientation, but the station does not function as a road junction with a dedicated set of named activities.
NCART network
The wider NCART system connects stations across Night City. The official Update 2.1 notes describe 19 stations distributed across five lines, but the station is not documented as a separate interchange hub in the supplied official material. It is safest to regard Med Center as a station on the wider network rather than claim a particular line interchange without in-game route verification.
Named places directory
The following names are verified within the immediate scope or are directly necessary to identify the location.
Medical complex
“Med Center” and “MedCenter” are shortened forms used for the Night City Medical Center, not separate hospitals. The metro station’s map label uses the Metro: Med Center form.
Roads and street references
The street reference is associated with the hospital complex. It should not be treated as a separate named district or a separate mission location.
Organisation
Trauma Team is the owner or operator associated with the Night City Medical Center. This does not mean that a Trauma Team shop, clinic service or purchasable medical facility is available at the station.
Transport
Buildings and services
Night City Medical Center
Status: Major exterior landmark; hospital interior generally not available for ordinary exploration.
The Night City Medical Center is the primary landmark at the station. Its importance is architectural and world-building rather than mechanical. The player can use it as a point of reference, inspect parts of the surrounding exterior and encounter environmental scenes nearby, but the base game does not turn the hospital into a normal public shopping or quest hub.
The building’s association with Trauma Team establishes its ownership and atmosphere, not a list of player-facing services. The hospital is presented as a powerful corporate landmark in a poorer part of Watson.
NCART station
Status: Functional transport facility after Update 2.1.
The station does not provide a separate vendor inventory, crafting bench, apartment, stash or unique upgrade service in the supplied evidence.
Residents, characters and ordinary NPCs
Named characters
No permanent named resident, vendor or quest-giver is verified as belonging to Metro: Med Center itself.
The station and hospital area can contain ordinary pedestrians, commuters, security personnel and ambient medical or corporate-themed NPCs. Their presence should be treated as environmental population rather than as a documented resident directory.
Trauma Team personnel
Trauma Team’s ownership of the hospital makes its presence thematically appropriate, but the hospital should not be described as a guaranteed location for a named Trauma Team character or a repeatable Trauma Team mission. The game’s random emergency encounters and street activity are separate from the station’s fixed content.
The netrunner behind the medical centre
A small environmental scene can be found behind or around the north-eastern side of the medical complex. It features a dead or incapacitated netrunner near equipment and a vehicle, with a nearby computer or readable material that indicates an attempt to penetrate or access the medical centre’s systems.
This is often mistaken for T-Bug because of the netrunner imagery and the character’s appearance. That identification is unsupported. Community investigations identify the figure as a separate netrunner, not T-Bug. One commonly circulated name is Lady Space, but because the game’s presentation and community documentation are inconsistent, it is better to describe the scene as the unaffiliated netrunner encounter unless the player’s own scan or text explicitly supplies a name.
Enemies and security
Metro: Med Center has no verified dedicated boss encounter, dungeon, gang stronghold or permanent hostile faction presence.
The medical centre is a high-value corporate facility, so its visual security language is stronger than that of much of Watson. However, the existence of corporate security around the complex does not establish a fixed combat zone or a guaranteed enemy roster.
Collectibles and loot
No unique station collectible, guaranteed iconic weapon or fixed armour reward is verified for the station itself.
The surrounding streets may contain ordinary loot, shards or environmental objects depending on the player’s route and game state. These should not be presented as exclusive Med Center rewards unless a specific placement has been independently confirmed.
The netrunner scene may include readable computer content or environmental evidence. Because community accounts differ over the exact contents and placement, inspect the scene directly rather than relying on it as a guaranteed loot route.
Activities and missions
Dedicated Med Center mission
There is no verified mission whose primary objective is to complete an operation inside the Metro: Med Center station.
The location may be passed while travelling to activities in Watson, but that does not make those activities Med Center missions. A nearby NCPD scanner event, gig or random encounter should remain attributed to its own map location.
NCART travel
The station’s principal activity is travelling on NCART. This is both a functional convenience and a sightseeing feature.
Environmental investigation
The netrunner scene behind the medical complex is the station’s most notable piece of optional environmental storytelling. It is easy to miss because it is outside the direct station entrance and does not form part of a major quest.
Optional exploration route
This route is designed to cover the station and the hospital exterior without incorrectly treating the entire district as part of the location.
Optional exploration route: steps
- 01Start at Metro: Med Center. Take note of the station entrance, platform access and the surrounding approach roads.
Optional exploration route: steps
- 01Walk towards the hospital forecourt. Use the large medical complex as your main landmark. Inspect the parking area and the relationship between the station, hospital façade and elevated transport infrastructure.
Optional exploration route: steps
- 01Circle the exterior perimeter. Do not assume that the obvious front entrance is the only point of interest. The side and rear approaches provide a clearer view of the connected buildings and road structures.
Optional exploration route: steps
- 01Search the rear or north-eastern exterior. Look for the isolated netrunner scene near the service area and vehicle. Examine the body, nearby computer and readable material.
Optional exploration route: steps
- 01Do not label the netrunner as T-Bug. The scene is separate environmental storytelling, not a confirmed appearance by V’s netrunner ally.
Optional exploration route: steps
- 01Return to the station. Either use fast travel or board NCART and ride to another station. The train journey is particularly useful if you want to examine Night City’s elevated infrastructure and urban density.
Secrets and common misconceptions
“Is the dead netrunner T-Bug?”
No. The resemblance has led to repeated speculation, but the scene is not a confirmed T-Bug location. T-Bug’s story has its own established progression, and the netrunner behind the medical complex can be encountered independently of her fate.
The safest interpretation is that the scene depicts a different netrunner attempting to compromise the medical centre. The exact identity and wider story are not sufficiently documented to turn every community nickname into hard canon.
“Can I enter the whole hospital?”
Not as a normal, freely explorable public interior. The hospital is primarily an exterior landmark in the base game. Some restricted or decorative access points may appear to suggest a larger interior, but they should not be treated as a complete hospital level without a specific mission or confirmed access route.
“Is Med Center in City Center?”
No. The Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Medical Center is in Watson’s Little China. City Center is a separate district. Earlier Cyberpunk sourcebooks use several similarly named medical areas, which is why continuity errors are easy to make.
“Is the station available in the original launch version?”
The station existed visually as part of Night City’s infrastructure, but the fully functional NCART system was added later. Update 2.1, released on 5 December 2023, introduced usable metro travel.
Lore and setting
The Med Center is a concise example of Watson’s social contrast. Watson once carried more prestigious infrastructure, but by 2077 it is widely associated with economic decline, overcrowding and neglected neighbourhoods. Against that background, the Trauma Team medical complex remains visibly large, expensive and operational.
The hospital’s architecture also reflects Night City’s layered transport system. The building is not simply placed beside a road and a station. Elevated roadways and rail infrastructure are integrated into the surrounding structure, presenting the medical centre as part hospital, part corporate fortress and part transport landmark.
The location’s strongest narrative function is therefore visual:
Note
Night City Medical Center, Little China, Watson, served by Metro: Med Center.
Continuity and naming notes
The term “Medical Center” is not unique to Cyberpunk 2077. Earlier Cyberpunk material contains other places with similar names, including Medical Center areas, Crisis Medical Center and Trauma Team Tower. These belong to different maps, eras or continuities and should not be silently combined with the 2077 Watson location.
This formulation keeps the station, hospital and district hierarchy clear.
