Key takeaways

  • Trailer Park is in Red Peaks, Badlands, not in Santo Domingo proper, although it lies close to the city boundary and is commonly described as being on the outskirts of Santo Domingo.
  • The settlement’s principal named residents are River Ward, Joss Kutcher, Randy Kutcher, Dorian Kutcher and Monique Kutcher.
  • The Hunt begins the main story associated with the location Randy’s trailer contains the crucial evidence needed to locate him and can determine whether the questline continues successfully.
  • The park has a Trailer Park fast-travel dataterm and two confirmed vendor services at the entrance area: clothing and food.
  • Following the River returns V to the settlement If V romances River, Kutcher’s Home becomes available as a personal residence after the relevant progression.
  • The location’s fixed, story-relevant content should be separated from ordinary residents, vendor stock and incidental environmental objects. There is no evidence that every trailer is enterable or that every visible structure has a named owner.

About this guide

Scope: Base game Cyberpunk 2077. Phantom Liberty is not required. Spoiler warning: This guide discusses River Ward’s questline, the outcome of The Hunt, the River romance, and the conditions that can make parts of the questline unavailable.

Overview

Trailer Park is a small residential settlement in Red Peaks, a subregion of the Badlands on the eastern edge of Night City. It is best known as the home of the Ward-Kutcher family and as the main residential location in River Ward’s side-job chain.

The area is easy to mistake for a generic Badlands settlement, but it has more narrative importance than its size suggests. It contains a fast-travel point, a roadside service area with vendors, River’s family trailers, Randy Kutcher’s home, and several quest-specific interiors. After the right progression in River’s storyline, one of the trailers can also become an apartment-like personal space for V.

The location is not a general-purpose town, gang base or combat arena. Most of its importance comes from its residents, its role in The Hunt and Following the River, and the way its ordinary, semi-rural setting contrasts with Night City’s dense urban districts.

Overview and boundaries

Trailer Park occupies a compact cluster of mobile homes and service structures in Red Peaks, an eastern Badlands zone near the edge of Night City. The Badlands are divided into several distinct areas rather than forming one uniform desert. Red Peaks is specifically described as the trailer-park region, while other Badlands subregions include Rocky Ridge and Sierra Sonora.

The settlement should therefore be treated as a child area of Red Peaks, rather than as a synonym for the whole of Red Peaks or the whole eastern Badlands. The guide covers the actual trailer settlement, its entrance facilities, its named homes and the quest spaces directly associated with it. It does not fold nearby districts, unrelated Badlands camps or distant mission locations into the area.

The park sits near the urban edge and is associated with the eastern side of Santo Domingo in several location descriptions, but it is not a Santo Domingo subdistrict on the city map. That distinction matters when following quest markers or comparing it with Rancho Coronado, Charter Hill and the wider Badlands.

Geography and layout

Trailer Park is a low-density settlement built around mobile homes, improvised yards, short access roads and a roadside entrance. It has none of the verticality or commercial density found in Night City’s central districts. The homes are close enough together to feel like a community, but the surrounding open land and long approach roads reinforce its position on the urban fringe.

The settlement’s most useful landmark is the entrance service area. This is where V can find the fast-travel dataterm and the vendors. The family homes used during River’s missions are deeper within the residential section.

The park is not presented as a formal nomad camp. Although its residents live in trailers and the area has a rough, semi-rural character, it is a settled family community rather than an Aldecaldo base or a Wraith-controlled encampment. No reliable source establishes a permanent gang presence or a named faction as the settlement’s owner.

Access and routes

The most reliable route is to use the map’s Trailer Park fast-travel point once it has been discovered. A complete map index lists the dataterm within the Badlands, making it the practical starting point for both free-roam visits and River’s missions.

If travelling by road, approach from the Night City side and follow the road towards the Badlands. The settlement is not hidden behind a puzzle, security checkpoint or faction gate. Its small size means that the entrance area and residential trailers are close together, although quest objectives may direct V to a particular home.

The park is also straightforward to reach during The Hunt, where River brings V there as part of the investigation into Randy’s disappearance.

Recommended arrival route

  1. 01
    Fast-travel to Trailer Park.
  2. 02
Face the settlement and identify the entrance service area.
  3. 03
Use the vendors before beginning a quest if you need clothing or food.
  4. 04
Walk through the residential lanes rather than driving between trailers.
  5. 05
During The Hunt, follow River’s objective marker to Joss and then to Randy’s trailer.
  6. 06
After completing the relevant River missions, return to check whether Kutcher’s Home is available to V.

Residents and characters

Trailer Park’s identity comes primarily from its residents rather than from businesses or combat encounters. The Ward-Kutcher family occupies the central place in the location’s story.

Residents directory

These names should not be treated as a list of people permanently visible in the park at all times. Some appear only during specific missions or progression states. River, for example, is encountered there as part of his storyline rather than as a conventional always-present settlement NPC.

Visitors and story-associated characters

The vendors are functional merchants, but their personal names are not reliably established in the available location references. They should therefore be listed by role rather than assigned invented names.

Businesses and services

Trailer Park has limited commercial activity. The confirmed services are concentrated near the entrance, where a clothing vendor and food vendor operate beside the roadside facilities.

The clothing vendor is useful when V wants Badlands-appropriate or nomad-style clothing without returning to a larger urban district. Vendor inventory can vary with game progression and stock refreshes, so individual garments should not be treated as permanently guaranteed unless checked in the current save.

The food vendor provides food purchases, but the presence of a food service does not establish that every nearby sign or named structure is a separate restaurant. Salmonella is listed as a named place associated with Trailer Park, but the available evidence does not justify describing it as a full restaurant, bar or enterable business without a direct in-game confirmation.

Service limitations

The distinction between a service NPC, a named environmental location and a story residence is important here. Trailer Park is useful, but it is not a complete commercial hub.

The Hunt

The Hunt is the settlement’s most important mission. It is a River Ward side job that follows I Fought the Law. River brings V to Trailer Park while investigating the disappearance of Randy, and the first major investigation takes place inside Randy’s home.

The mission’s central gameplay is investigation rather than combat. V must search Randy’s trailer for information, access his laptop and follow the evidence towards Anthony Harris and the farm where Randy is being held.

The Hunt checklist

The locked cabinet is optional, but the laptop and the wider evidence chain are not. The quest’s consequences are not limited to its immediate reward. Saving Randy and completing the investigation correctly preserves later River content. PowerPyx lists Street Cred experience for saving Randy, while other walkthroughs emphasise that failure can block the River questline and romance.

Spoiler-heavy walkthroughSpoilers

  1. 01
Arrive with River. Follow River through the park after the drive. You will meet Joss and be directed towards Randy’s trailer.

Spoiler-heavy walkthroughSpoilers

  1. 01
Search the trailer. The most important item is the laptop under Randy’s bed. Scan it and allow River to pull it out.

Spoiler-heavy walkthroughSpoilers

  1. 01
Open the optional locked storage. The key is in the kitchen area, on a cupboard near the orange table. It opens a locked cabinet in Randy’s bedroom and provides an additional clue.

Spoiler-heavy walkthroughSpoilers

  1. 01
Unlock the laptop. A sufficiently high Intelligence attribute can bypass the password requirement. Otherwise, activate the record player in the hallway and use the track title Liberum Arbitrium as the password.

Spoiler-heavy walkthroughSpoilers

  1. 01
Read the laptop evidence. Check the messages and relevant web and file entries. The investigation points V and River towards the material connected with Harris.

Spoiler-heavy walkthroughSpoilers

  1. 01
Choose to help River. During the conversation with Joss, refusing to assist can end River’s questline. That can remove later River missions and the possibility of pursuing his romance, so create a manual save if you want to examine the alternative dialogue.

Spoiler-heavy walkthroughSpoilers

  1. 01
Inspect the braindances carefully. Scan the required clues in the braindance sequences. Finding enough evidence lets the game identify the correct destination without relying on a blind guess.

Spoiler-heavy walkthroughSpoilers

  1. 01
If necessary, select Edgewood. If the investigation does not identify the farm automatically, the correct choice is Edgewood. Choosing incorrectly can prevent V from saving Randy and can damage or end River’s subsequent storyline.

Following the River

Following the River returns V to Trailer Park after the events of The Hunt. The mission is a family-focused side job rather than an investigation. V spends time with River and his relatives, including the children, and the location functions as a relaxed domestic setting.

The mission also contains the key River romance opportunity. Romance eligibility depends on V’s body type and the dialogue choices made during River’s storyline. The park itself is not the only requirement, but it is the setting for the decisive personal interactions.

Progression outcomes

The residence should be described as a story-unlocked personal space, not as one of the standard apartments purchased through V’s apartment system. Location references identify Kutcher’s Home as becoming available if River is romanced.

Progression outcomes

Progression outcomes
StateResult at Trailer Park
The Hunt not startedFree-roam settlement with vendors and ambient residents
The Hunt activeRandy’s trailer becomes a quest investigation site
The Hunt failed or River’s storyline abandonedLater River content may be unavailable
Following the River completedRiver’s family scene concludes
River romance completedKutcher’s Home can become available as V’s residence
Non-romance completionRiver’s storyline can still conclude, but romance-specific residence access may not occur

Kutcher’s Home

Kutcher’s Home is the central family residence in the park. It is used during River’s missions and contains the domestic spaces where V meets Joss, Randy and the other members of the family.

Do not assume that every trailer visible nearby has equivalent access. The mission grants access to specific interiors, while other mobile homes may remain scenery or inaccessible background structures. Mission access is therefore different from general free-roam enterability.

Ordinary NPCs and ambient life

The park contains ordinary residents and service workers rather than a large faction population. Their presence helps sell the location as a community, but they do not form a major gameplay system.

There is no confirmed evidence that Trailer Park contains:

Ambient NPCs may move around the settlement and vendors may operate near the entrance, but schedules and incidental behaviour can vary by time, quest state and game version. Such behaviour should not be confused with named resident status.

Security, enemies and hazards

Trailer Park is generally a low-threat exploration location. Its principal danger is not the settlement itself but the wider Badlands roads and the possibility of encountering hostile groups while travelling.

There is no confirmed permanent boss or named enemy inside the park. The Hunt is primarily investigative at this location. The later Edgewood section introduces stronger security hazards, including cameras, turrets and mines, but Edgewood is a separate destination and should not be counted as part of Trailer Park.

Items, collectibles and loot

Trailer Park is not known as a dedicated collectible zone. The most important items are quest evidence and interaction objects inside Randy’s trailer:

The record player and cabinet are progression objects, not general loot containers. Their value is in solving The Hunt rather than in providing a unique permanent weapon or iconic piece of equipment.

The clothing vendor may stock useful garments, but vendor inventory is not a fixed location collectible. It can change with stock refreshes and progression, so a particular item should be checked directly in the current save.

Suggested exploration route

For a first visit, the following route covers the location without mixing in nearby regions:
