About this guide
Scope: Base game Cyberpunk 2077, including the post-launch version of Night City as it appears in the main game. This guide covers Autowerks itself, the autoshop and warehouse on Longshore North. It does not treat the whole of Northside, Longshore North, or the surrounding industrial blocks as part of Autowerks.
Overview
Autowerks is a vehicle workshop and warehouse in Northside, Watson, on Longshore North. In normal exploration it is a relatively quiet industrial building, but it becomes the setting for Regina Jones’s gig “Occupational Hazard”, in which V must rescue Hal Cantos from a Mox warehouse after a member of the gang becomes cyberpsychotic.
The location is easy to overlook because its importance is almost entirely tied to that gig. Autowerks is not a general vehicle-service hub, purchasable garage, or permanent car workshop for V. Its significance comes from the contrast between its ordinary commercial appearance and the violent incident taking place inside.
Location and boundaries
Autowerks belongs to Northside, one of Watson’s sub-districts. The building stands on Longshore North, in the industrial part of the sub-district. A gig guide places it towards the southern part of Northside, east of the Martin St fast-travel point.
For the purposes of this guide, the boundaries are:
There are no separately documented child areas of Autowerks with their own recognised names. The building is best treated as one named location with several functional interior zones.
Named directory: Autowerks and its immediate areas
“Autowerks warehouse” is used in quest material to describe the mission interior. It is not a separate district or independent named location.

Exterior and layout
From outside, Autowerks presents as an industrial automotive building rather than a public-facing dealership. The exterior has the visual language of a working garage or warehouse, with large access doors and roofline routes that can be exploited during the gig.
The inside is organised around a large workshop or garage space. During “Occupational Hazard”, this area becomes the main combat zone. An upper level or catwalk overlooks parts of the workshop, and the building contains a blue shipping container where Hal Cantos is hiding.
---
The building’s practical zones are
- 01Front entrance
- 02The most obvious approach.
- 03Leads into the warehouse area.
- 04A further door on this route can be opened with Technical Ability 5.
Exterior and layout: steps
- 01Workshop and garage floor
- 02Main combat area during the gig.
- 03Contains tools, vehicles or vehicle-related scenery, cover and the blue container where Hal is hiding.
- 04Anna Nox patrols or attacks through this section during the mission.
Exterior and layout: steps
- 01Upper level and catwalk
- 02Contains an injured Mox member.
- 03Provides sightlines into the workshop.
- 04Gives access to the body and terminal used for the optional subnet hack.
Exterior and layout: steps
- 01Roof and upper entry points
- 02V can climb onto the roof using nearby objects such as the dumpster by the entrance.
- 03A roof window provides an alternative entry route.
Exterior and layout: steps
- 01Mission containers and storage
- 02Hal is concealed inside a large blue shipping container.
- 03The container is part of the gig’s objective sequence rather than a permanent civilian service point.
Access and routes
From the Northside fast-travel network
The practical route is to travel to the Martin St fast-travel point and head towards the southern part of Northside. Guides describe Autowerks as being east of Martin St, with one route description also referring to the building as west of the point depending on the approach and map orientation. The reliable navigation advice is to follow the gig marker and look for the Autowerks industrial building on Longshore North rather than relying on a single compass description.
Ground-level entry
The front entrance is the simplest route when the gig is active. A further interior door can require Technical Ability 5, depending on the route taken. This check is not a universal requirement for entering the location because the roof route remains available.
Roof entry
If V lacks the Technical Ability requirement, climb onto the dumpster near the entrance and use the roofline to reach an upper opening. A window on the roof provides access to the warehouse. This route is particularly useful for stealth builds or players who want to avoid entering directly into the central combat space.
Access summary
The Technical Ability and roof-entry options are documented specifically for “Occupational Hazard”. Their availability outside the gig may vary with mission state.
---
Access summary
| Route | Requirement | Practical use |
|---|---|---|
| Front entrance | None stated | Direct approach |
| Interior locked door | Technical Ability 5 | Faster access to the main area |
| Dumpster to roof | No attribute check reported | Alternative route |
| Roof window | Requires reaching the roof | Stealth or bypass route |
Residents, visitors and factions
The Mox
The Mox are the faction most directly associated with Autowerks. The building functions as a Mox warehouse or hideout during “Occupational Hazard”. The gig begins after Regina sends V to rescue Hal, who was working with the Mox on a braindance-related matter.
The Mox presence is not presented as a conventional public-facing business. Autowerks is better understood as a repurposed industrial site used by the gang, rather than as a Mox-branded shop that offers services to the player.
Ordinary NPCs
Autowerks does not have a verified permanent shopkeeper, mechanic, vendor or named civilian population. Any Mox members encountered there during the gig should be treated as mission-associated occupants rather than evidence that the building operates as a normal public garage.
---
Businesses and services
Autowerks as a business
Autowerks is classified as an autoshop and warehouse, but the player cannot use it as a conventional vehicle-service location. There is no verified option to:
The building’s automotive identity is mainly environmental. Its name, signage, workshop arrangement and customer records establish it as a functioning vehicle-repair business in the world, but not as an interactive service hub for V.
Customer list
One of the computers contains a customer list. It records vehicles and repair jobs, showing that Autowerks handles a range of Night City cars and maintenance work. The list includes:
The list is an environmental record rather than a buying or repair interface. It also contains a continuity oddity: the entry for the Mizutani Hozuki refers to a vehicle associated with Phantom Liberty, although the base game location and computer content predate that expansion.
Named directory: services and business records
These are recorded services in the computer text, not confirmed player-facing services.
---
Customer list
| Customer entry | Vehicle or job |
|---|---|
| Villefort Cortez | Listed with Mr Aziz for engine valve adjustment |
| Quadra 66 | Associated with the same entry |
| Ms Sytske | Periodic inspection and document stamping |
| Mizutani Hozuki | Listed in the customer records |
| Mr Harmer | Gear replacement and oil-pan leak repair |
| Archer Hella | Associated with the same entry |
| Mr Stewart | Tyre replacement and balancing |
| Makigai MaiMai | Associated with the same entry |
| Ms Grabietz | Power-steering replacement |
Computers and readable content
The building contains two computers. One has a short message about a braindance investigation, while the other includes a hostile malware warning and the customer list.
“BD location”
The message is from Lil Bex to Hal Cantos. It says that a Mox woman died after being pushed into making illicit XBDs and that the Moxes are trying to identify who was distributing or viewing the material. Bex asks Hal to isolate code from the braindances to recover the original AV layer.
This text gives context for the incident in “Occupational Hazard”. It also explains why Hal is present and why the Moxes are involved, without turning Autowerks into a separate investigation hub.
Malware message
The second computer contains an automated malware warning. It is not a quest clue and does not unlock a unique service. Its exaggerated advertising language is environmental satire, consistent with the game’s presentation of spam, scams and compromised personal devices.

About this guide
Major spoilers for the Autowerks section follow.
Gig: “Occupational Hazard”
“Occupational Hazard” is a SOS: Merc Needed gig assigned by Regina Jones in Watson. It becomes available at low Street Cred progression, with guides listing Street Cred 1 as the unlock requirement.
Regina sends V to Autowerks after learning that Hal Cantos is trapped inside. A Mox member, Anna Nox, has become cyberpsychotic after putting on a braindance wreath and is attacking people in the warehouse. V must neutralise the immediate threat and get Hal out alive.
Main objectives
The gig is considered complete after Hal is safe and V exits the location.
Missability and progression
The main Autowerks content is the gig itself. The following states matter:
No separately verified iconic weapon, unique permanent vendor, purchasable property or mandatory collectible is established for Autowerks in the researched material.
---
Main objectives
- 01Enter the Mox warehouse.
- 02Neutralise Anna Nox.
- 03Find Hal Cantos.
- 04Talk to Hal.
- 05Leave the area and receive Regina’s completion call.
Walkthrough
- 01Reach Autowerks in Northside. Follow the gig marker to the building on Longshore North. You can use the front entrance, open the Technical Ability 5 door, or climb to the roof through the dumpster route.
Walkthrough
- 01Locate the injured Mox upstairs. An injured Mox member can explain what happened. Speak with her before attacking if you want the fullest contextual route through the building.
Walkthrough
- 01Find Anna Nox. Anna is the cyberpsycho roaming the workshop area. Her main threat is close-range combat with mantis blades, so keep distance where possible and use the workshop layout for cover.
Walkthrough
- 01Use the Mox subnet, if desired. The optional hack is accessed through a body on the upper floor. Guides report an Intelligence 5 requirement for connecting to the Mox subnet. Completing this optional step weakens Anna before the fight.
Walkthrough
- 01Neutralise Anna. The gig permits lethal or non-lethal methods. However, the post-fight dialogue and mission logic do not always make a strong distinction between the two outcomes. The Mox upstairs can react as though Anna was killed even when V used a non-lethal approach.
Walkthrough
- 01Open the blue container. Hal is hiding in the large blue shipping container in the workshop. If V opens it before dealing with Anna, Hal refuses to come out while the danger remains. Defeat or neutralise Anna first, then speak to Hal.
Walkthrough
- 01Leave Autowerks. Once Hal is safe, exit the building. Regina contacts V and the gig ends. Guides list an eddie reward, although the exact amount can vary by version, progression and reference source.
Hazards and secrets
Cyberpsycho encounter
The principal hazard is Anna Nox. This is a contained mission encounter, not a random open-world cyberpsycho event. Defeating her does not advance the Psycho Killer questline.
Optional network hack
The Mox subnet is an optional mission interaction. It weakens Anna and provides additional context, but it is not required to complete the gig. The reported requirement is Intelligence 5.
Mission-state access
Some doors, enemies and interactions are best understood as mission-state content. The building’s layout can be explored from different approaches, but the full narrative use of the warehouse is tied to “Occupational Hazard”. This means that an apparently empty or quiet Autowerks before the gig should not be treated as proof that the building has no interior content.
---
For a first visit
- 01Approach from Martin St and identify the Autowerks frontage.
- 02Walk around the entrance before entering so you can locate the dumpster and roof route.
- 03Enter through the front if you want the direct combat path.
- 04Use the roof if you prefer stealth or lack Technical Ability 5.
- 05Speak to the injured Mox upstairs.
- 06Read both computers after securing the workshop.
- 07Check the Mox subnet before fighting Anna if Intelligence 5 is available.
- 08Deal with Anna before opening Hal’s container.
- 09Speak to Hal, then leave through the safest available route.
Real-world inspiration and trivia
Autowerks is not documented as a direct adaptation of a named real-world garage. Its environmental identity comes from the broader visual language of Night City’s industrial districts: repurposed warehouses, automotive workshops, gang-controlled commercial spaces and corporate neglect.
The oversized tyre in the Autowerks logo is associated with a Thorton vehicle design. Autowerks signage also appears in other places around Night City, so not every matching sign represents the explorable Northside building.
A continuity curiosity is the customer-list reference to the Mizutani Hozuki, a vehicle added with Phantom Liberty. The computer text therefore links a base-game location with later vehicle content, even though Autowerks itself remains in Watson and is not part of Dogtown.
