About this guide
Scope: Base game, including the post-launch 2.0-era version of Cyberpunk 2077. Phantom Liberty and Dogtown are excluded. Spoilers: This guide contains major spoilers for The Pickup, several Regina Jones gigs, Delamain’s quest line, and Northside’s environmental storytelling.
Overview
Northside is Watson’s northern industrial sub-district, formally known as the Northside Industrial District, or NID. It is not simply the area around All Foods. The district includes the factories, apartment blocks, docks, warehouses, commercial strips and abandoned industrial sites stretching across northern Watson. Treating All Foods as the whole of Northside misses a large part of the district, including Ebunike Docks, Cargo Bay, Totentanz, the motel and the Northside apartment.
Once a prosperous manufacturing centre, Northside has become a decaying industrial zone. Earthquake damage, abandoned investment and factory closures have left much of the district in ruins. Maelstrom uses the derelict buildings as gang territory, hideouts, braindance facilities and storage sites for stolen corporate cargo. The surviving apartment blocks house workers employed by the few industries that remain open.
For V, Northside is one of the most important early-game areas in Watson. It contains the All Foods factory used during The Pickup, Maelstrom’s Totentanz club, a substantial collection of Regina Jones gigs, the Delamain cab associated with Epistrophy: Northside, and several multi-stage NCPD Scanner Hustles. It is also one of the best places to see the contrast between Night City’s corporate infrastructure and the people left behind by it.
Industrial core
The industrial core contains All Foods, the former factory buildings, the roads around Megabuilding H10 and several mission locations used by Regina Jones. It is the part of Northside most players see first, especially during The Pickup.
Named locations
All Foods is an abandoned slaughterhouse and former All Food Corporation factory. By 2077, Maelstrom uses it as a major hideout. The factory is also the setting for the main job The Pickup, where V attempts to acquire the Militech-allied Flathead from Maelstrom.
The industrial core is not uniformly accessible. Some buildings are enterable only during a mission, some are combat spaces connected to scanner activities, and others are environmental scenery. A shopfront or business sign does not necessarily indicate a usable service.
Named locations
Residential and commercial strip
Northside’s residential section includes tall apartment buildings, the motel and a cluster of low-level commercial premises. This part of the district is useful as a navigation anchor because it sits between the industrial centre and the docks.
Named locations
The Northside Apartment is a purchasable property added to the base game’s apartment system. It is associated with the motel area and becomes available through the apartment-purchasing system rather than through a conventional shopkeeper. Fast travel to the apartment is listed separately from the other Northside dataterms.
The motel is also associated with Flight of the Cheetah, one of Regina Jones’s gigs. It should not be treated as a general hotel service location. Its importance is primarily environmental and mission-related.
Named locations
Northside Docks
The Northside Docks form the district’s broad freight and container area. They are used by smugglers, scavengers, couriers and gangs. Container stacks create multiple vertical levels and can conceal side paths, loot and scanner events.
Named locations
Cargo Bay is described as a scavenger-run marketplace built from repurposed transport containers. Its vendors’ names include Corpo Snack, Iron & Lead and ParaMED, but these should not automatically be read as fully functional player shops. Some are scenery, some are mission-associated spaces and some are vendor-style set dressing.
The docks are particularly good for exploration because the apparent main road is not the only route. Walk between containers, check raised platforms and scan locked service doors. However, do not assume that every container contains a unique item. Loot can be ordinary, randomised or connected to a nearby activity.
Named locations
Ebunike Docks
Ebunike Docks are the northern waterfront area and one of Northside’s most recognisable landmarks. The large cargo ship Ebunike is moored here, awaiting renovation. The ship and dock complex are closely associated with Northside’s maritime and freight identity.
Named locations
The Ebunike area is not simply a scenic harbour. It is tied to story material involving Johnny Silverhand and the old Arasaka operation around the ship. Parts of the location are mission-oriented and may be inaccessible or unimportant during ordinary free-roam exploration.

Entering Northside
Northside is accessible during the early Watson portion of the game. The most natural first visit is through The Pickup, which takes V to All Foods. Other routes lead into the district from Kabuki, Little China and the northern roads of Watson.
The district has enough open roads for driving, but walking is often more efficient near the docks. Vehicles can become awkward around container yards, fenced compounds and roads beneath elevated highways.
Useful approaches
From Kabuki and Little China
This is the most direct approach for early story progression. Follow the main roads north towards All Foods. The route is relatively simple, but the final approach to the factory can be blocked by mission staging, gang activity or security barriers.
From the All Foods Plant fast-travel point
This is the best entry point for the industrial core and the southern part of Northside. From here, you can reach All Foods, the nearby roads, several Regina gig locations and scanner activities without crossing the whole district.
From Docks or Ebunike Docks
Use these points for Cargo Bay, the waterfront and northern industrial sites. They are also useful when clearing scanner hustles because the docks can be awkward to reach from the All Foods side.
From Northside Apartment
The apartment fast-travel point is useful for the residential section and for returning to Northside after missions. It is less convenient for All Foods than the All Foods Plant point, but more convenient for the motel and nearby streets.
---
Maelstrom
Maelstrom is Northside’s principal gang. Its members occupy abandoned factories, use illegal braindance facilities and control several criminal operations. The gang’s headquarters-like presence at Totentanz makes the club one of the district’s defining locations.
Maelstrom’s visual identity is especially prominent here: heavy cyberware, aggressive body modification, red lighting, industrial interiors and improvised security. Their territory is not always marked by formal gates. Patrols, graffiti, bodies and hostile checkpoints often indicate that V has entered a Maelstrom-controlled space.
Named Maelstrom figures associated with Northside
Not all of these characters are permanent Northside residents, and several are mission-specific. They should be treated as story-associated figures rather than ordinary district inhabitants.
Named Maelstrom figures associated with Northside
Scavengers
Scavengers operate around the docks and abandoned industrial areas. They are less central to Northside’s main story than Maelstrom, but they are important to the district’s atmosphere and appear in several activities.
Named or associated figures
Lucy Thackery is associated with Hippocratic Oath, in which V is asked to rescue her from Maelstrom captivity. The job is a useful introduction to Northside’s overlap between gang territory, medical exploitation and abandoned commercial buildings.
NCPD
NCPD’s presence is mostly indirect. Scanner Hustles represent police dispatches and reported crimes rather than a permanent police station or stable patrol network. Northside’s crime scenes often suggest that NCPD has limited practical control over the district.
Residents and workers
Northside’s ordinary population consists largely of industrial workers, low- and mid-level corporate employees, street vendors, mechanics, couriers, clinic users and people living in the megabuildings. The district is not empty, despite its abandoned factories. Its central tragedy is that people continue living among the ruins of an economy that no longer supports them.
---
The following directory consolidates named Northside locations identified in the location and map sources. It deliberately separates locations from confirmed player services. A sign, storefront or business name is not proof that the player can purchase goods there.
Major landmarks
Named businesses and storefronts
Confirmed or practical services
Game8’s Northside directory explicitly identifies All Foods Factory and Cargo Bay as key places and lists the district’s fast-travel points. The broader location directory also lists the smaller businesses and buildings above.

Confirmed or practical services
| Location | Function |
|---|---|
| Northside Apartment | Purchasable apartment and player residence |
| All Foods Plant | Fast travel and mission landmark |
| Ebunike Docks | Fast travel and waterfront access |
| Docks | Fast travel and access to Northside Docks |
| Megabuilding H10 | Residential landmark and fast-travel access |
| Cargo Bay | Scavenger marketplace and environmental location |
| Totentanz | Mission location and Maelstrom club |
| Meds Etc. | Named medical storefront; service availability may vary by version and exact map interaction |
| Wicked Tires Autoshop | Named automotive storefront; not automatically a vehicle-service point |
Main job: The Pickup
The Pickup is Northside’s most important main-job appearance. V travels to All Foods to obtain the Flathead from Maelstrom. The mission can develop differently depending on V’s negotiations, payment method and treatment of Royce and Brick.
Why the mission matters
The mission’s continuity is important. The version of All Foods seen during The Pickup is not necessarily the same as the version encountered during later free-roam exploration. Treat mission-only enemies and temporary access routes separately from Northside’s ordinary population.
Regina Jones gigs
Regina Jones controls Watson’s fixer activity. Her Northside jobs cover rescues, thefts, investigations and combat. The verified Northside gig list includes:
The Watson gig directory lists these jobs as Northside assignments for Regina Jones, while separating jobs in Kabuki and Little China.
Hippocratic Oath
A rescue mission involving Lucy Thackery, who is being held by Maelstrom. The job is set in a clinic-like location and highlights Northside’s exploitation of medical infrastructure. It can also affect the appearance of a later scanner activity in the same general area.
Many Ways to Skin a Cat
A theft job involving a Revere Courier Services van. It is a good example of Northside’s industrial identity: courier infrastructure, freight traffic and criminal logistics overlap throughout the district.
Rite of Passage
A theft job concerning a recording of a Maelstrom initiation rite. The mission provides additional context for the gang’s recruitment and brutal internal culture.
Dirty Biz
A particularly grim Northside gig involving a raw braindance connected with the murder of Bryce Stone’s son. It is one of the district’s strongest examples of the relationship between illegal braindance production, gang crime and the vulnerable people living around Northside’s abandoned facilities.
Catch a Tyger’s Toe
An infiltration and sabotage job involving malware. Although the Tyger Claws are more strongly associated with other parts of Night City, the Northside setting reinforces how gang interests and criminal contracts overlap across district boundaries.
Flight of the Cheetah
A rescue job associated with the Northside motel. The motel should be treated as a mission landmark here rather than assumed to be a fully operational public service location.
Scrolls Before Swine
A later Regina assignment involving a corrupt NCPD officer and a difficult moral choice. It uses Northside’s lawless industrial setting to question the difference between policing and exploitation.
Freedom of the Press
A rescue mission in which V must recover Max and bring him back to Regina. The job uses a Northside facility as a controlled mission space and rewards careful navigation, stealth or direct combat.
Lousy Kleppers
A theft assignment involving transport-route data from Malorian Ltd. Its subject matter suits Northside’s freight and logistics infrastructure.
Occupational Hazard
A rescue mission involving Tiny Mike and a Militech raid. It demonstrates that Northside’s dangers are not limited to gang violence. Corporate forces can enter the district when valuable people, technology or intelligence are involved.
Regina Jones gigs
Cyberpsycho activity
Regina also coordinates Psycho Killer, the cyberpsycho investigation series. Northside contains cyberpsycho-related activity, but these encounters should be tracked separately from ordinary Regina gigs. Cyberpsychos are not simply random gang enemies and should not be counted as part of the standard gig list.
Delamain: Epistrophy
Epistrophy: Northside is one of Delamain’s cab-recovery missions. It takes place in the district and is listed separately from Regina’s gigs. The objective is to locate and follow the rogue Delamain cab without destroying it.
This activity is easy to miss if the player clears the district before beginning Delamain’s quest line. It is not a Northside gig, and it should not be included in the Regina directory.
NCPD Scanner Hustles
Northside contains a substantial number of blue NCPD Scanner activities. These include:
Scanner activities are finite encounters rather than endlessly repeating events. They usually disappear after completion, and Reported Crimes can lead to a second location or a follow-up objective.
One Northside Reported Crime is associated with the clinic area used in Hippocratic Oath. It may not appear until the related gig has been completed and time has passed. A practical method is to finish the gig, leave the area, wait or sleep for roughly a day, then check the Northside scanner filter again. This trigger is reported by location-specific scanner guides, but exact spawning behaviour can vary with patches and playthrough state.
Scanner activity directory
The available research confirms Northside scanner activities, but the accessible sources do not provide one consistently verifiable, text-only canonical name for every individual marker. For that reason, this guide does not invent a complete named list of anonymous Assaults in Progress or Hidden Gems.
This is an unresolved directory gap rather than evidence that Northside has no further activities.

The following route is efficient for a first complete sweep.
Route 1: All Foods to the industrial core
- 01Fast travel to All Foods Plant.
- 02Visit the exterior of All Foods Factory.
- 03If The Pickup is active, complete or postpone it before attempting to catalogue the area. Mission state can alter access and enemy placement.
- 04Follow the roads south and east around the industrial buildings.
- 05Check the exteriors of Autowerks, Clean Cut, Meds Etc. and Wicked Tires Autoshop.
- 06Search the Ross Street Parking Facility and nearby service roads for scanner activity.
- 07Move towards Megabuilding H10 and H12.
Route 2: Residential Northside
- 01Start at Northside Apartment or Megabuilding H10.
- 02Walk around the motel and nearby streets.
- 03Complete any Regina gig markers in the area.
- 04Check Martin Street and Pershing Street for fast-travel access and mission entrances.
- 05Return to the map and filter for NCPD Scanner Hustles.
Route 3: Docks and Cargo Bay
- 01Fast travel to Docks.
- 02Explore Cargo Bay from the outside in, checking container lanes and elevated platforms.
- 03Visit the named container businesses, but distinguish scenery from usable vendors.
- 04Continue north through Northside Docks.
- 05Check the Abandoned Warehouse, The Shuttle Dock and the medical or courier-marked areas.
- 06Finish at Ebunike Docks and inspect the accessible exterior areas around the ship.
Route 4: Post-mission return
After completing Hippocratic Oath, Dirty Biz, Occupational Hazard or other Northside gigs:
---
Route 4: Post-mission return: steps
- 01Leave the district.
- 02Wait or sleep for 24 hours.
- 03Reopen the Northside map with scanner activities selected.
- 04Revisit locations whose mission layouts have changed.
- 05Read every shard obtained from Reported Crimes.
Mission-only access
Totentanz, All Foods and parts of Ebunike are not equally accessible at all times. A locked door may mean that the area is mission-only rather than that the player has missed a key.
Maelstrom hostility
Northside often contains Maelstrom groups that are neutral until V enters a restricted space. Scan enemies before attacking, especially around industrial yards. Some locations contain explosive objects, turrets or elevated shooters.
Corporate combat zones
Occupational Hazard and other gigs can introduce Militech or private-security enemies into spaces that are otherwise occupied by Maelstrom or scavengers. Treat these as mission states rather than permanent changes to Northside’s faction hierarchy.
Loot expectations
Northside has many containers, bodies and locked rooms, but not every location contains a unique reward. Distinguish:
Do not assume that every named business contains a purchasable service or unique item.
---
Northside’s strongest story is environmental. It was designed as a factory district and once employed thousands. Its decline is attributed to earthquake damage, the collapse of investment and the abandonment of older industrial infrastructure. New apartment towers conceal the worst of the ruins, but they do not solve the underlying problem.
The district’s name also reflects a wider history of Night City’s geography. Earlier Cyberpunk material used different organisational schemes for Night City, and “Northside” has appeared in older location frameworks as part of the city’s broader northern and industrial areas. The 2077 game uses Northside specifically as a Watson sub-district, not as a city-wide administrative region.
Its visual language is deliberately utilitarian: boxy factories, freight roads, cargo containers, unfinished construction, industrial signage and Kitsch graffiti layered over older Entropist architecture. The result is not a dead city but a city whose original purpose has been discarded while its inhabitants remain.

Other activities
---
Is Northside part of Watson?
Yes. Northside is the Northside Industrial District, a sub-district of Watson. It is not a separate major district like Westbrook or Santo Domingo.
Is All Foods the same thing as Northside?
No. All Foods is one major landmark within Northside. The district also includes the docks, Ebunike, Cargo Bay, the motel, apartment blocks, industrial streets and several named businesses.
Who controls Northside?
Maelstrom is the dominant gang, particularly around All Foods, Totentanz and other abandoned industrial sites. Scavengers also operate in parts of the district.
Can I buy an apartment in Northside?
Yes. The Northside Apartment is a purchasable player residence in the base game’s apartment system. It is distinct from Megabuilding H10 and from ordinary residential interiors.
Why has a scanner activity not appeared?
Some activities are gated by story progress, related gigs, reading shards or time passing. Complete nearby missions, leave the district, wait or sleep, then check the map with the NCPD Scanner Hustle filter enabled.
Is Totentanz always accessible?
No. Totentanz is primarily a mission location. Its accessibility and occupants depend on story progression and the outcome of The Pickup.
Does Northside appear in Phantom Liberty?
Northside remains part of the base game map, but Phantom Liberty’s principal new district is Dogtown. This guide excludes Dogtown and Phantom Liberty content.
