Key takeaways

  • Drake Ave is in Little China, Watson, not Northside, although the dataterm lies close to the Little China–Northside boundary.
  • The area’s main permanent utility is the Drake Ave fast-travel dataterm.
  • The Drake Ave–Cartwright Street market is the location of Tygers by the Tail, an NCPD Suspected Organised Crime Activity involving Tyger Claws.
  • The roof of the nearby Softsys Turbo building is associated with the final objective of Paranoia, also described in some guides as Dirty Fred’s stash.
  • The area contains a named shard, Doctor Paradox Broadcast Excerpt, beside the stash. The contents of the stash are levelled or randomised rather than a guaranteed fixed weapon.
  • Drake Ave has no verified dedicated shop, apartment, ripperdoc, fixer office or mission-giver that should be treated as part of the location itself.

About this guide

Scope note: Drake Ave is not a full district or formally defined neighbourhood. In the game’s location hierarchy it is a fast-travel dataterm and local street area within Little China, Watson. This guide therefore covers the immediate Drake Ave surroundings, especially the Drake Ave–Cartwright Street market and the nearby roof-level crime scene, without incorrectly expanding the subject to all of Little China.

Introduction

Drake Ave is a compact but useful corner of Watson’s Little China. Its most obvious feature is the Drake Ave fast-travel dataterm, positioned in the northern part of the subdistrict near the boundary with Northside. The surrounding blocks are made up of dense commercial frontage, elevated walkways, food kiosks, signage and service alleys rather than one large named complex.

The area is easy to overlook because Drake Ave has no major story hub of its own. It becomes more significant through nearby NCPD activity, particularly the Tygers by the Tail organised-crime operation at the Drake Ave and Cartwright Street market, and Paranoia, a reported-crime chain whose final stash is found on a roof close to the dataterm.

Location and boundaries

Hierarchy

Night City → Watson → Little China → Drake Ave

The game’s map identifies Drake Ave as a Little China location in Watson. The fast-travel marker is listed at approximately -1608.000, 1773.700 by one comprehensive map index. That coordinate is useful as a map reference, but it should not be treated as an official in-game coordinate system or as a precise boundary polygon.

Drake Ave itself should not be confused with:

The Drake Ave dataterm is close to Northside, which explains why some guides describe the surrounding area as being near the Northside border. That description refers to proximity, not a change in district or subdistrict.

Local character

Drake Ave is typical of northern Little China: tightly packed buildings, narrow service routes and layered urban space. The important playable routes are not limited to street level. Roofs, dumpsters, cables, kiosks and walkways are relevant to the Paranoia stash, making the area a small example of the vertical navigation used throughout Watson.

The immediate surroundings include a market at the corner of Drake Ave and Cartwright Street, food-service frontage and a building carrying Softsys Turbo advertising. The available evidence does not establish every visible shop sign as a functional vendor, so decorative or background businesses should not be assumed to provide services.

Missions and activities

The market, Softsys Turbo building and fast-food kiosk are local descriptive names supported by activity guides, but they are not all necessarily formal map locations or enterable businesses.

Access and routes

Fast travel

The simplest way to reach the area is to select Drake Ave from the fast-travel network. The dataterm is listed among Little China’s fast-travel points alongside locations such as Megabuilding H10, Goldsmith St, California & Cartwright and other Little China markers.

If the dataterm has not yet been activated, approach it on foot or by vehicle. As with other fast-travel points, it becomes available after discovery.

From Megabuilding H10

The Drake Ave–Cartwright Street market is described as being north-west of Megabuilding H10. This is the most useful route reference for players already familiar with V’s starting area:

The exact road approach can vary depending on whether V is travelling on foot or by vehicle. For Paranoia, do not remain at street level once the objective points towards the stash. The final route uses nearby vertical structures.

From Megabuilding H10

  1. 01
    Start at Megabuilding H10.
  2. 02
    Travel north-west through Little China.
  3. 03
Look for the market at the Drake Ave and Cartwright Street intersection.
  4. 04
Continue towards the Drake Ave dataterm and the nearby commercial roofs if following the Paranoia objective.

Tygers by the Tail

Type: NCPD Suspected Organised Crime Activity Location: Market at the corner of Drake Ave and Cartwright Street Faction: Tyger Claws Named leader: Mokomichi Yamada, also known as “Motor Boy” Reward evidence: Crafting Spec: Unity, plus experience, money and normal activity loot.

Tygers by the Tail is the principal combat activity directly associated with Drake Ave. NCPD reports that Tyger Claws are suspected of armed robbery and extortion at the market. The objective is straightforward: secure the area and neutralise the gang members, including Mokomichi Yamada.

The activity is not a permanent faction-controlled safe zone. Once completed, the Tyger Claws encountered there are no longer an active objective group, although ordinary ambient NPC behaviour and later random encounters should not be confused with the mission’s fixed enemy roster.

Rewards

The named reward associated with the activity is:

The activity listing also records experience and monetary rewards. Individual enemy drops remain subject to the game’s level and loot systems, so they should not be described as a fixed Drake Ave inventory.

Recommended approach

  1. 01
Enter the market from a position that gives you cover.
  2. 02
Scan the area before opening fire. The market contains multiple sightlines and clutter that can interfere with automatic weapons.
  3. 03
Identify Mokomichi Yamada and deal with him or reduce his support first.
  4. 04
Use the surrounding stalls, walls and shopfronts as cover.
  5. 05
Search the area after the fight. Organised-crime activities normally place their most relevant reward in the final loot area or on the marked target.

Paranoia

Type: NCPD Reported Crime Area: Near Drake Ave, on the Little China side of northern Watson Objective: Locate and loot Dirty Fred’s stash Prerequisite: Completion of The Rescue, followed by obtaining the relevant shard chain.

Paranoia is less conventional than a normal crime scene. The final Drake Ave section does not simply place a large group of enemies around the objective. According to the available walkthrough evidence, V reaches the area near the Drake Ave fast-travel point and finds a roof-level stash connected to Dirty Fred.

The activity begins elsewhere. After completing The Rescue, V must obtain the [UNSENT MESSAGE] shard from an NCPD encounter west of the No-Tell Motel in Kabuki. Reading the shard leads into the Paranoia chain and eventually directs V to the Drake Ave area.

Finding the stash

The stash is on a lower roof near a building carrying Softsys Turbo advertising. The roof is not necessarily reachable by simply jumping from street level.

The route may be easier with a mobility cyberware option such as Double Jump, but the guides consulted describe the cable-and-kiosk route as a normal environmental solution rather than a mandatory cyberware check.

Loot

The stash contains levelled or randomised loot. One recorded example contained:

Those items should not be treated as guaranteed rewards for every playthrough. The accompanying Doctor Paradox shard is the more reliable named discovery.

Finding the stash: A practical route is

  1. 01
Travel to the Paranoia objective near the Drake Ave dataterm.
  2. 02
Locate the building with the Turbo billboard.
  3. 03
    Find the nearby fast-food kiosk.
  4. 04
Move around the kiosk towards the crates and dumpsters.
  5. 05
    Climb onto the kiosk roof.
  6. 06
Use the cable or wire connecting the structures as a bridge.
  7. 07
Cross to the Softsys Turbo roof.
  8. 08
Turn left after reaching the roof and follow the roofline.
  9. 09
Look for Dirty Fred’s stash and the Doctor Paradox Broadcast Excerpt shard.
  10. 10
Loot the crate to complete the objective.

Residents, factions and security

Tyger Claws

The Tyger Claws are the only faction directly tied to a fixed Drake Ave activity in the evidence consulted. Their presence is concentrated around the market during Tygers by the Tail. The activity names Mokomichi Yamada as the local leader and identifies the group as being involved in armed robbery and extortion.

NCPD

NCPD is represented through scanner activity rather than a permanent police facility. Tygers by the Tail is issued as an NCPD Suspected Organised Crime Activity, while Paranoia is categorised as a Reported Crime. Neither establishes a police station or permanently staffed checkpoint at Drake Ave.

Ordinary NPCs

The area contains ordinary market, street and food-service pedestrians. Their precise names and routines are not consistently documented in the sources consulted. They should therefore be treated as ambient NPCs rather than a verified resident directory.

Shops and services

No independently verified functional vendor is established as part of the Drake Ave location itself.

The nearby fast-food kiosk is useful as a traversal landmark during Paranoia, but the available evidence does not verify it as a purchasable food service. Likewise, visible Turbo or other commercial signage should not be treated as proof of an enterable shop.

Potentially nearby but outside the defined Drake Ave scope are the wider Little China vendors and services listed on regional guides. Those should be documented under Little China rather than folded into this article without a precise location link.

Items and collectibles

Variable loot

There is no reliable evidence here for a tarot graffiti, iconic weapon, purchasable apartment or unique cyberware permanently assigned to Drake Ave.
