Key takeaways

  • Mobile Camp and Nomad Camp are the same Aldecaldo base in different locations The original camp lies in the central-eastern Rocky Ridge Plains; the later Nomad Camp is farther north in a valley.
  • The camp’s marker changes after the Aldecaldos relocate following the Wraith attack. This can cause confusion when searching for the original Mobile Camp fast-travel point.
  • The principal group present is the Aldecaldos, led by Saul Bright, with Panam Palmer as the character most closely associated with the location.
  • The camp contains a gun vendor and a ripperdoc These are listed as Badlands services associated with Mobile Camp, rather than inferred from scenery or business names.
  • Panam’s questline is the camp’s main content Failing to meet the requirements or time limit for Riders on the Storm can lock the player out of later Panam missions, her romance and related rewards.
  • The later camp can function as a limited personal base for V The available bed and companion interactions depend on Panam’s quest progression and, for some interactions, romance state.

About this guide

Scope: Cyberpunk 2077 base game, including the camp’s later Nomad Camp state. Spoilers: This guide covers Panam Palmer’s questline, the Aldecaldos’ relocation and the possible Panam romance.

Overview

Mobile Camp is the first Aldecaldo campsite encountered in Cyberpunk 2077. It is not a permanent district or a broad Badlands region. It is a named fast-travel location and temporary nomad base situated in the Rocky Ridge Plains, within the eastern Badlands and the area commonly described as the Wind Farms. After the Aldecaldos are attacked by the Wraiths, the camp moves to a safer valley farther north and its fast-travel marker becomes Nomad Camp. These are two progression states of the same Aldecaldo base rather than two unrelated settlements.

The camp is primarily a story location. It is where V meets Panam’s family, receives support from the Aldecaldos, accesses a gun vendor and ripperdoc, and later gains access to a small personal living space under specific progression conditions. It is also the practical starting point for several of Panam’s side jobs and for the Aldecaldo ending route.

Location and boundaries

Where Mobile Camp is

Mobile Camp belongs to the eastern Badlands, not to Rocky Ridge town itself. The camp is located in the broader Rocky Ridge Plains area, near the wind turbines. It should therefore be treated as a distinct named site inside the plains, not as another name for Rocky Ridge or for the whole Wind Farms area. The Badlands map contains several separate named places in this part of the desert, including Rocky Ridge, Wind Farms, Wraith Camp and other fast-travel locations.

The original campsite is relatively open and makes heavy use of trailers, improvised shelters, parked vehicles and nomad equipment. Its appearance reflects the Aldecaldos’ temporary status: this is a working base assembled from transportable parts rather than a conventional settlement.

The later Nomad Camp

After the events leading to the Wraith attack, the Aldecaldos move their base north into a more defensible valley. The new location is labelled Nomad Camp on the map. It is still part of the Rocky Ridge Plains and remains an Aldecaldo location, but its physical setting and map position are different from the original Mobile Camp.

This distinction matters when following older maps or completion guides. A guide may call the original fast-travel point Mobile Camp even when the player’s current game has already moved the camp and now displays Nomad Camp. Fast-travel directories specifically note that the marker’s name and position depend on Panam’s storyline progression.

Included and neighbouring places

The following places should not be merged into Mobile Camp:

The available evidence supports the camp’s relationship with the Rocky Ridge Plains and Wind Farms, but does not establish a formal in-game boundary line around the campsite. The safest description is therefore the named camp compound and its immediately associated vehicles, shelters, service buildings and mission areas.

Camp layout and useful areas

The exact arrangement changes between the original and relocated camps, but several functional categories remain consistent.

Main communal area

The central area is used for conversations, preparations and informal interaction between Aldecaldos. During Panam’s storyline, V is often guided through this space to meet members of the family or to collect equipment before leaving on a job.

The camp is not designed as a conventional shopping street. Most objects are part of the Aldecaldos’ mobile infrastructure: trailers, cars, technical equipment, temporary rooms and communal spaces. Decorative vehicles and shelters should not automatically be treated as usable shops or player homes.

Workshop and vehicle areas

Vehicles are central to the camp’s identity. The Aldecaldos maintain cars, trucks and combat equipment here, and several quests begin with a vehicle-related objective or departure from camp. The camp’s workshop spaces are mainly scenic or mission-related unless a specific interaction prompt is available.

Service buildings

These services are associated with Mobile Camp in Badlands vendor directories. Inventory is level- and tier-dependent, and some listed weapons, cyberware and crafting specifications may not appear in every visit.

Personal living space

The later Nomad Camp includes a small space that can serve as a limited home for V. It is not equivalent to V’s purchasable apartments in Night City. Its availability and interactions are tied to Panam’s storyline, and the bed interaction can be affected by the state of the relationship and follow-up scenes. Some sources describe the camp space as an unlockable apartment, while player reports indicate that the most distinctive companion interactions depend on romance and later quest flags.

Named directory

Location names

Naming note: “Aldecaldo Camp” is the factional or descriptive name used for the base. “Mobile Camp” and “Nomad Camp” are the map-facing fast-travel names used in different progression states. The evidence does not support treating these as three separate camps.

Named faction and characters

Saul and Panam are the principal leadership figures associated with the camp. Mitch, Scorpion, Cassidy and Carol are Aldecaldo characters encountered in the broader questline and camp scenes. Dakota Smith is the Badlands fixer closely associated with the Aldecaldos’ wider territory, but she is not a resident of the camp itself.

Verified services

The available directory evidence confirms these service categories. It does not justify expanding the list with a food stall, mechanic, general trader or clothing shop merely because camp scenery contains tools, vehicles or stalls.

Residents, visitors and associated characters

Aldecaldo residents

The camp is occupied by members of the Aldecaldos. They are a nomad family operating in the Badlands, and the camp serves as a mobile base rather than a fixed town. Saul Bright is the family’s leader during the relevant period. Panam is a major operative whose conflict with Saul and later reintegration into the Aldecaldos drives much of the location’s story content.

Other Aldecaldos appear depending on the mission and progression state. Their presence is not always identical between free roam, pre-relocation scenes and post-quest camp states.

Visitors

V is a recurring visitor rather than a permanent Aldecaldo resident. During Panam’s missions, V is treated as an ally or temporary member of the operation. Johnny Silverhand may appear in story scenes through V’s perception, but this does not make him a resident or physical camp occupant.

The camp can also host story-specific visitors during Panam’s later missions. These appearances are progression-dependent and should not be assumed to represent the camp’s ordinary population.

Services and inventory

Gun vendor

The Mobile Camp gun vendor sells firearms, weapon modifications, grenades, ammunition-related items and selected crafting specifications. The available inventory changes with character level, item tiers, vendor refreshes and game version. A directory of possible stock includes weapons such as the D5 Copperhead, Crusher, JKE-X2 Kenshin, M221 Saratoga, SPT32 Grad, TKI-20 Shingen and CQO Kanone variants, along with crafting specifications and weapon mods.

Do not treat every item in a vendor database as guaranteed stock. Vendor listings generally describe possible inventory rather than a permanently fixed catalogue. If a desired item or crafting specification is missing, leave the shop, advance time and check again.

Ripperdoc

The Mobile Camp ripperdoc provides cyberware services. Directory evidence lists possible stock including:

The precise catalogue depends on the version and progression system in use. After the 2.0 update, cyberware availability and tiering work differently from the launch version, so old item lists should not be used as exact modern inventories. The reliable point for this location is that a ripperdoc exists and is listed as the Badlands’ Mobile Camp ripperdoc.

Access and routes

First story visit

V normally reaches the Aldecaldo camp through Panam’s storyline. In Ghost Town, Panam takes V to the camp to recover her vehicle and obtain help and equipment for the job against Nash. The camp can therefore be reached before it becomes a routine free-roam destination through the mission route itself.

Fast travel

The original camp has a Mobile Camp fast-travel dataterm. After relocation, the active marker becomes Nomad Camp and appears in the northern valley. Fast-travel guides warn that the marker’s name and position depend on whether Panam’s storyline has reached the relocation stage.

For completion purposes, the change can be confusing because an older map may show Mobile Camp in the wind-turbine area while a later save shows Nomad Camp farther north. Search both positions if a guide and your map disagree.

Suggested route: For a first visit

  1. 01
Follow the active Panam objective rather than driving directly across the desert.
  2. 02
Enter the camp and speak to the marked Aldecaldo characters.
  3. 03
Use the camp’s services before leaving if you need weapons, cyberware or healing items.
  4. 04
Activate the nearby fast-travel dataterm when it becomes available.
  5. 05
After the Wraith attack and relocation, revisit the new Nomad Camp and activate its replacement marker.

Spoiler warning for Panam’s questlineSpoilers

Mobile Camp is central to the following story progression:

Riders on the Storm

After completing Life During Wartime, Panam eventually contacts V. The job begins with a meeting at the Aldecaldo camp. The player is then directed to the Wraith-controlled farm where Saul is being held.

The timing is important. Walkthrough evidence states that, once the objective to meet Panam is active, V has 24 in-game hours to reach the required location or the job can fail. A failed job may close off the rest of Panam’s side-job chain, including her romance route and related trophy or achievement progress.

The farm infiltration itself is a separate hostile location and should not be counted as part of Mobile Camp’s permanent boundaries. It is included in the mission because the camp acts as the staging point.

With a Little Help from My Friends

This mission returns V to the Aldecaldos as Panam and her allies prepare a plan involving the power grid and Basilisk. The camp is used for planning, dialogue and departure. Dialogue choices can affect the warmth of V’s relationship with Panam and the path towards romance, but the exact choice requirements should be followed from a dedicated romance guide if that is the player’s objective.

Queen of the Highway

The Aldecaldo camp and its surrounding vehicle area are used for the Basilisk sequence. This mission is one of the strongest examples of the camp functioning as a living nomad base rather than merely a quest marker. Its content is progression-specific and does not occur in the same form on a fresh save.

Security and enemies

The Aldecaldos defend themselves against rival nomad groups, particularly the Wraiths. The camp’s relocation is a direct response to the Wraith attack and the danger posed by corporations or other hostile forces.

There is no evidence that Mobile Camp functions as a permanent combat zone with a fixed, repeatable enemy roster. Hostile encounters connected to the camp are generally mission-driven. The Wraiths encountered during Panam’s jobs belong to the relevant mission locations, such as the farm and attack sequence, rather than forming a permanent free-roam population inside the camp.

Police presence is not a defining feature of the camp. Unlike Night City neighbourhoods, the Badlands camp is outside the normal urban security structure. The principal danger is nomad and corporate hostility, not routine NCPD patrols.

Rewards and progression changes

Camp relocation

The most important state change is the move from Mobile Camp to Nomad Camp. It occurs after the Aldecaldos suffer the Wraith attack and decide to establish a safer base farther north. The relocation changes the fast-travel marker and the camp’s physical position.

Aldecaldo ending route

Completing Panam’s side jobs and maintaining a positive relationship with the Aldecaldos can unlock the option to call on them during the endgame. This leads to the Aldecaldos’ assault route and the ending commonly associated with the Star tarot card. The camp is therefore not only a service hub but also a progression checkpoint for one of the game’s major ending paths.

Panam romance

Panam can be romanced by a V meeting the relevant body-type requirement and making compatible choices during her questline. The camp serves as a major relationship location, particularly in the later missions. Romance can unlock additional camp interactions, including companion scenes associated with the bed and living area.
