About this guide
Scope: Cyberpunk 2077 base game, with a short note on Phantom Liberty where the park is used as a mission meeting point. Spoiler level: Light spoilers in the overview. Major story and quest-branch spoilers are marked.
Overview
Reconciliation Park is a large public park in the northern part of The Glen, within the Heywood district of Night City. It sits beside Corporate Plaza, with the park itself belonging to Heywood while the adjoining The View shopping mall belongs to City Center’s Corporate Plaza. That boundary is important: The View is connected to the park, but it is not part of Reconciliation Park.
The park is one of the quieter spaces in central Night City. It contains wooded paths, recreational areas, fountains, a lake, a small restaurant, market-style stalls and an East Asian-inspired garden section. Its calm appearance contrasts with the litter, rough paths, homeless residents and frequent Valentinos presence found around parts of the grounds.
In gameplay terms, Reconciliation Park is primarily an exploration location and quest landmark rather than a conventional activity hub. It has no large chain of gigs, no dedicated combat arena and no cluster of permanent vendors. Its main importance comes from the Zen Master side-job chain, its connection to Corporate Plaza and The View, and a later Phantom Liberty mission meeting that can take place there.
Boundaries and hierarchy
Reconciliation Park should be treated as a single named location inside The Glen, rather than as a name for the whole northern Glen or the neighbouring Corporate Plaza.
The park’s north-eastern edge meets Corporate Plaza, which is part of the City Center district. The boundary is visible in the game through the change from the park’s informal, wooded environment to Corporate Plaza’s elevated roads, formal architecture and luxury retail spaces.
The View is adjacent to the park but remains a separate named location. It is an open, multilevel shopping mall on the Corporate Plaza side. Staircases connect it directly to the park, and the mall’s name refers to its views over Reconciliation Park and the surrounding city.

Developed overview
Reconciliation Park is designed as a rare piece of substantial greenery in the centre of Night City. The western end is more urbanised, with a small terrace, trees and shop stands. Moving eastwards, the space opens into a large wooded area crossed by dirt paths and paved routes.
A small lake occupies much of the north-eastern section. South-west of the lake is a segmented fountain area, while a small outdoor restaurant stands near the lake’s northern corner. The south-eastern part of the park has a distinct East Asian visual identity, with Japanese-style landscaping, a gazebo, a torii gate and a pond crossed by a bridge.
The park is not uniformly pristine. Some paths are worn, rubbish is scattered around sections of the grounds and homeless people use parts of the area as shelter. Valentinos can also be found in and around the park. This produces one of the location’s central contrasts: Reconciliation Park is presented as a civic symbol of recovery and urban harmony, yet its everyday condition shows how unevenly Night City distributes comfort and maintenance.
The park’s view of the sky is interrupted by elevated roads, bridges and Lincoln Boulevard. The surrounding transport infrastructure prevents it from feeling like an isolated natural reserve. Even in the park, Night City’s roads, traffic and corporate architecture remain close at hand.
Subareas and visual sections
The game does not give every section of the park a separate official name. For navigation, however, the following divisions are useful.
Western terrace
The westernmost part of the park is the most urban and commercial-looking section. It contains trees, a small raised terrace and several stalls or stands. These are part of the scenery rather than a clearly documented collection of functional shops.
This is a useful entrance if approaching from The Glen and a practical place to orient yourself before moving towards the lake.
Central woodland
The central portion consists of trees, bushes, paths and open recreational ground. It is the section most likely to feel like a conventional public park, although the litter and rough surfaces underline its Night City setting.
The Zen Master’s first appearance is associated with this general park environment, specifically a concrete bench.
Lake and northern shore
A small lake occupies the north-eastern part of the park. Paths follow parts of the shoreline, and the north side includes a small outdoor restaurant.
The lake is also the area most useful for viewing The View and the surrounding Corporate Plaza architecture. The park’s open water and greenery provide a deliberate contrast to the mall’s luxury-facing design.
Fountain area
South-west of the lake is a sizeable fountain zone. It is visually distinct from the wooded paths and acts as a useful landmark when crossing the park from west to east.
The fountains are environmental scenery rather than a separate minigame or activity.
East Asian garden
The south-eastern section uses East Asian-inspired plants, architecture and landscaping. It includes:
This section is a visual echo of earlier Night City locations associated with Japantown and the old Lake Park, although the two parks are not the same location in Cyberpunk 2077. Reconciliation Park is the later park of the 2050s to 2070s era; Lake Park belongs to earlier tabletop continuities.
The View connection
Staircases on the park’s north-eastern boundary lead up into The View. This is an important navigational connection, but it should not be used to classify the mall as a park subarea.
The View contains named establishments including Appel de Paris, Cambridge Winery and Nagami Market. These are in the mall, not in Reconciliation Park. The mall’s database description mentions luxury technology, weapons, clothing and restaurants, but the game does not provide a weapons vendor there.
Access and suggested routes
From The Glen
The most natural approach is from the northern part of The Glen. Follow the roads towards the large park boundary and use the entrances leading into the western or southern sections.
This route is best for a first visit because it takes you through the park’s less formal, more residential-facing side before reaching the lake and the Corporate Plaza boundary.
From Corporate Plaza
From Corporate Plaza, approach The View and descend the staircases leading towards the park. This route places you near the lake, fountains and north-eastern garden.
It is also the quickest way to compare the two sides of the location:
Suggested exploration circuit
For a complete visual tour, use this route:
From Corporate Plaza
- 01Start in the formal Corporate Plaza surroundings.
- 02Enter The View if you want to inspect its retail spaces.
- 03Take the stairs down into Reconciliation Park.
- 04Follow the lake south-west towards the fountains.
- 05Continue into the wooded centre and western terrace.
- 06Finish at the East Asian garden and pond.
Suggested exploration circuit
- 01Enter from The Glen at the western side.
- 02Inspect the terrace and stalls.
- 03Walk east through the central woodland.
- 04Turn north towards the lake.
- 05Follow the southern lake shore.
- 06Visit the fountains south-west of the lake.
- 07Continue to the East Asian garden and torii gate.
- 08Climb towards The View from the north-eastern staircases.
- 09Return through the park rather than fast-travelling, as the contrast between the park and Corporate Plaza is one of the location’s main design features.
Characters and ordinary residents
Zen Master
The Zen Master, also known as the Strange Monk, is the park’s most important recurring character. He first meets V in Reconciliation Park and begins the meditation-themed side-job sequence with Imagine. The encounter takes place near a concrete bench.
The Zen Master does not function as a conventional vendor, trainer or permanent service provider. His role is entirely tied to the side-job chain.
Sandra Dorsett
Sandra Dorsett is not a permanent park resident. In Phantom Liberty, she may meet V at Reconciliation Park after V calls on her for help during Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos. This is conditional on earlier quest progress and the relevant dialogue outcome in Full Disclosure. The meeting becomes available after an in-game wait of approximately eight hours.
Ordinary NPCs
These groups are environmental populations rather than a named faction activity. Their presence can vary with time, quest state and combat conditions.
Factions, security and hazards
Valentinos
The Valentinos are the gang most directly associated with Reconciliation Park. Their presence fits the park’s position in The Glen, where Valentinos influence is visible across much of the surrounding neighbourhood.
The park is not presented as a dedicated Valentinos stronghold. It has no clearly marked gang headquarters, named boss encounter or faction-owned interior. Their members are instead part of the park’s ambient street presence.
NCPD and private security
Reconciliation Park itself is not a major checkpoint-controlled corporate facility. The neighbouring Corporate Plaza is much more formal and security-conscious, with corporate and police protection around its buildings and roads. The contrast is useful when crossing between the two locations.
There is no verified permanent NCPD checkpoint, police station or dedicated security facility inside the park. The nearby civic and corporate buildings should therefore not be folded into the park’s boundaries.
Environmental hazards
The park has no unique environmental damage type or special traversal hazard documented for the base game. Practical risks are ordinary Night City ones:
Businesses and services
Reconciliation Park contains decorative stalls and a small outdoor restaurant, but available evidence does not establish these as fully functional player-facing vendors.
Do not confuse the park’s scenery with the documented services in The View. The View has named establishments and is described as a luxury shopping destination, but its establishments are separate from the park and their functions should be checked individually rather than inferred from signage.

Missions and activities
Imagine
Imagine is the principal base-game quest associated with Reconciliation Park. V finds the Zen Master sitting on a concrete bench and begins a short meditation encounter. This starts a four-part sequence built around meditation and the classical elements.
The later quests take place in other parts of Night City. Reconciliation Park should therefore be treated as the starting point of the chain, not as the location for all four missions.
Stairway to Heaven
Stairway to Heaven is the second Zen Master encounter in the overall chain, but it takes place in Japantown rather than Reconciliation Park. Its requirements include completing Imagine. The player can sit with the Zen Master and choose the free option without losing the quest reward or access to the sequence.
This is an important scope distinction: the park is associated with the questline, but not every quest in the chain occurs there.
Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos
If V chooses the Reed-aligned route in Phantom Liberty and calls Sandra Dorsett for assistance, Sandra can arrange to meet V at Reconciliation Park after a waiting period. She provides information connected with the MaxTac convoy and asks V to install a Trojan virus in return. This is a conditional mission visit, not a permanent change to the park.
The mission’s main combat and convoy sequence occurs elsewhere. The park is used for the information hand-off only.
Imagine: The wider sequence is
- 01Imagine
- 02Stairway to Heaven
- 03Poem of the Atoms
- 04Meetings Along the Edge
Items, collectibles and loot
No unique, permanently documented collectible set is associated specifically with Reconciliation Park in the available sources.
The park may contain ordinary environmental loot, random containers or quest-state objects depending on the game version and current activity, but these should not be confused with a fixed collectible series. There is also no verified park-specific iconic weapon, cyberware reward or unique clothing item.
The Zen Master sequence provides quest progression and experience rather than a conventional physical treasure reward. The first encounter’s principal purpose is to begin the meditation chain.
Lore and history
Reconciliation Park was created during Night City’s post-war reconstruction period. Its purpose was both practical and symbolic: it celebrated the rebuilding of the city and the redevelopment of the area that became Corporate Plaza. The park’s name reflects the corporate and civic message of a supposedly renewed Night City entering an era of cooperation.
That symbolism is deliberately uneasy. The park commemorates reconstruction while being surrounded by inequality, rubbish, homelessness and gang presence. The elevated roads and Corporate Plaza architecture also prevent the greenery from becoming a true escape from the city. It is a public space, but it remains enclosed by the economic and political systems the city claims to have reconciled.
The park is sometimes compared with Lake Park, a major green space from earlier Cyberpunk tabletop settings. The visual similarities include a lake, broad parkland and an East Asian-influenced south-eastern section. However, Lake Park belongs to earlier historical continuities and is not simply the same place under a new name. The available lore describes Reconciliation Park as a later replacement or successor in Night City’s changing urban landscape, while noting that the exact continuity relationship is not fully explained.
Progression changes and continuity notes
Base game
In the base game, the park is available as part of the open-world city once the surrounding district can be freely explored. The Zen Master encounter is the main fixed activity tied directly to the location.
Phantom Liberty
The park receives an additional conditional use in Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos. Its availability depends on:
This does not turn the park into a new combat zone or permanently alter its layout.
Earlier Cyberpunk continuities
Lake Park is a separate earlier-continuity location. Its inclusion in comparisons and reference material is useful for lore and design discussion, but it should not be listed as a subarea of Reconciliation Park.
