Key takeaways

  • Republic East belongs to Arroyo in Santo Domingo, not Rancho Coronado and not the City Center district.
  • Its main landmark is the Electric Corporation Power Plant, an abandoned IEC facility used by Scavengers for illegal braindance-related activity.
  • The area contains the NCPD Reported Crime Supply Management, involving John Quaid and security personnel. The activity has a follow-up cache, so do not leave after looting the first objective.
  • The Errata thermal katana is found inside the Electric Corporation facility The normal route involves entering the fenced compound, dealing with surveillance, and exploring the plant.
  • Republic East is a useful starting point for exploring north-eastern Arroyo, but neighbouring locations such as Hargreaves Street, MLK & Brandon, Megabuilding H6 and Mission Waterfront are separate map areas.
  • The area is best explored after The Ride, when fast travel becomes usable, although the streets and some content can be visited earlier depending on the player’s route.

About this guide

Scope: Cyberpunk 2077, Night City, base game, including content added through the main game’s later updates. Phantom Liberty and Dogtown are excluded. Spoiler warning: This guide discusses the Electric Corporation Power Plant, the NCPD activity Supply Management, the Errata thermal katana, and environmental braindance-related material.

Overview

Republic East is not a district or a subdistrict. It is a named street-area and fast-travel location in Arroyo, one of the two subdistricts of Santo Domingo. On the in-game map, it functions mainly as a navigation anchor for the north-eastern part of Arroyo rather than as a large administrative region of its own. The surrounding area is industrial, fenced-off and relatively quiet compared with Arroyo’s denser factory compounds, but it contains several worthwhile discoveries: the abandoned Electric Corporation Power Plant, the NCPD activity Supply Management, a tarot graffiti site, and the fixed-location Errata thermal katana.

The name can be misleading because “Republic East” appears prominently in fast-travel lists, while the wider map continues into other Arroyo streets and industrial locations. It should therefore be treated as a local area around the Republic East road and its fast-travel point, not as a replacement name for all of Arroyo.

Location and boundaries

Republic East is in north-eastern Arroyo, within Santo Domingo. The fast-travel point is listed among Arroyo’s travel locations, alongside Arasaka Industrial Park, Hargreaves St, Megabuilding H4, Megabuilding H6, Metro: Wollesen Street, Mission Waterfront, MLK & Brandon and Red Dirt Bar. These are separate named anchors, not components of Republic East.

The practical boundary is the industrial street space around the Republic East dataterm, nearby fenced lots and the Electric Corporation compound. The map does not present Republic East as a formal subdistrict with a published internal list of neighbourhoods. It is more accurate to describe it as a local street-area within Arroyo.

Included within the Republic East area

The following entries are directly associated with Republic East by the available location and activity sources:

Neighbouring but separate places

Do not automatically fold these locations into Republic East:

The last entry is especially important. Rancho Coronado is the other Santo Domingo subdistrict, while Republic East is in Arroyo. The nearby eastern and southern streets can feel continuous when travelling by car, but the game’s subdistrict classification separates them.

Geography and atmosphere

Republic East is dominated by infrastructure rather than public amenities. Wide roads, utility fencing, concrete yards and industrial buildings give the area a more functional appearance than the residential and commercial parts of Night City. The Electric Corporation plant is the most conspicuous structure and provides the area’s strongest visual identity.

The plant’s surroundings are particularly easy to overlook at night. The NCPD activity takes place in a fenced compound with razor wire and poorly lit sections, making stealth approaches and enemy detection more difficult. The darkness is useful for avoiding sightlines but can also make loot and bodies harder to identify.

Named places directory

The directory is intentionally short because the available evidence identifies Republic East primarily as a fast-travel and street-area label. Decorative industrial buildings and unnamed fenced lots should not be promoted to named locations without stronger evidence.

Named places directory

The Electric Corporation Power Plant

The Electric Corporation Power Plant is an abandoned power facility formerly owned by the International Electric Corporation, or IEC. It is located in Arroyo on Republic East and is associated with the Scavengers. In 2077, the plant has been repurposed as a criminal operating site connected with illegal braindance activity.

The facility is more than a background building. It contains environmental storytelling, hostile or potentially hostile security elements depending on the approach and game state, and the route to the Errata thermal katana. The plant also provides context for the darker side of Night City’s braindance economy. The presence of netrunner bodies and illicit production material makes the building feel like a crime scene rather than a functioning public utility.

What to look for

The available sources disagree slightly in how they describe the immediate threat level. The weapon route has been reported as allowing entry without a conventional enemy fight if the player avoids detection, while the separate NCPD activity in the wider Republic East area involves guards and a named enemy. Treat the power plant and the Supply Management compound as related but not automatically identical combat spaces.

Factions and residents

Scavengers

The Electric Corporation Power Plant is identified as a Scavenger base. This is consistent with the plant’s use for illicit braindance activity and the bodies found inside. The Scavengers’ connection is location-specific: it does not mean that every civilian or enemy encountered around Republic East belongs to the gang.

NCPD

The NCPD appears through scanner-hustle content rather than as a permanent patrol presence defining the area. The named NCPD activity Supply Management concerns an armed group operating in a fenced yard. Completing the activity requires more than defeating the initial guards, because a second objective and cache become available afterwards.

Named-character directory

The sources identify John Quaid as the named hostile associated with Supply Management. No permanent civilian resident or shopkeeper is reliably identified as belonging specifically to Republic East.

Supply Management

Supply Management is an NCPD Reported Crime in Arroyo, Santo Domingo. Its location is listed as Republic East. The activity centres on a fenced compound containing John Quaid, security guards and veteran guards.

The journal frames the incident around a dealer attempting to make money by undercutting the corps with boosters. The activity’s physical layout includes a guarded yard, dark corners, razor wire and a better-lit area near the gate where the first important container can be found.

Associated shards

These shard names are recorded as part of the activity’s associated evidence. The shards provide context for the operation and should be collected if you want the complete narrative rather than only the activity completion marker.

Supply Management walkthrough

The activity source specifically notes that the second objective leads to a nearby building roof. A body may be visible before the follow-up stage but inaccessible until the first part has been completed.

Reward information

The general activity source records experience and loot but does not provide a fixed reward table. A later activity checklist identifies the reported-crime reward as a JKE-X2 Kenshin, with the important qualification that the second cache must be followed and looted for the activity to reach its completed state. Treat the weapon reward as update-dependent evidence rather than as a universal pre-2.0 rule.

Supply Management walkthrough

  1. 01
Travel to Republic East and locate the fenced industrial compound.
  2. 02
Scan the perimeter before entering. The area contains poorly lit sections and several possible sightlines.
  3. 03
Neutralise or bypass John Quaid and the guards.
  4. 04
Search the well-lit area near the gate for the backpack container.
  5. 05
Loot the container and read the associated conversation shard if you want the full context.
  6. 06
Wait for or follow the newly generated objective concerning the dealer’s stash.
  7. 07
Go to the nearby rooftop location marked by the follow-up objective.
  8. 08
Loot the body and its second conversation shard.
  9. 09
Confirm that the activity has fully cleared rather than assuming the first cache completed it.

Errata thermal katana

The Errata is a fixed-location thermal katana found at the Electric Corporation facility near Republic East. It is not a random drop and does not require a random encounter. The documented route begins at the Republic East fast-travel point and crosses into the power-plant grounds.

Acquisition route

The route source reports that the facility may be traversed without a conventional enemy encounter if the player remains undetected, but cameras and defensive systems still matter. A stealth build is not mandatory, though quickhacking makes the approach safer.

Acquisition route

  1. 01
Use the Republic East fast-travel point.
  2. 02
Face the large Electric Corporation building across the street.
  3. 03
Move around the side of the building and climb or mantle over the gate into the yard.
  4. 04
Watch for cameras and other security systems.
  5. 05
Disable cameras with quickhacks or interact with the terminals that control them.
  6. 06
    Explore deeper into the facility.
  7. 07
    Locate and collect Errata.

Items, collectibles and loot

Fixed item

Errata is the principal fixed collectible associated with Republic East. It is tied to the Electric Corporation facility rather than to the NCPD scanner-hustle reward pool.

Tarot graffiti

A Justice tarot card graffiti site is reported near the Electric Corporation facility. It is close enough to combine with an Errata run, but tarot graffiti should be treated as a separate collectible category from the weapon and from NCPD evidence.

Scanner-hustle loot

Supply Management provides assorted loot from its containers and bodies. The first cache includes a conversation shard and general items, while the follow-up rooftop body contains another shard and additional loot. The exact random equipment pool should not be confused with fixed named rewards.

Access and routes

Fast travel

Republic East is a fast-travel dataterm in Arroyo. Fast travel becomes usable after The Ride, according to the fast-travel reference. Dataterms are added to the map when V comes close to them, so the point may appear only after physically reaching its vicinity.

From central Night City

The simplest approach is to travel east into Santo Domingo and follow the road network into Arroyo. Once the Republic East dataterm is unlocked, it becomes the natural starting point for repeated visits to the plant, the nearby NCPD activity and the tarot graffiti.

Suggested exploration route

This route avoids mixing the plant’s exploration content with the NCPD activity’s separate compound.

Suggested exploration route: For a first visit, use this order

  1. 01
Activate the Republic East fast-travel point.
  2. 02
Identify the Electric Corporation building and inspect the nearby exterior.
  3. 03
    Collect the tarot graffiti.
  4. 04
Enter the plant and acquire Errata.
  5. 05
Leave the plant and locate the separate fenced compound for Supply Management.
  6. 06
    Complete the first cache.
  7. 07
Follow the second objective to the rooftop body.
  8. 08
Continue south or west into the remaining Arroyo activities rather than assuming they are part of Republic East.

Security and hazards

Republic East’s hazards are primarily environmental and tactical rather than unique gameplay mechanics.

Common risks

The power plant is particularly suitable for stealth or quickhack approaches because the documented route emphasises disabling cameras and avoiding detection. The Supply Management compound is more straightforwardly combat-oriented, with John Quaid and several security personnel.

Progression and missability

Republic East is not documented as a main-story-locked area. Its fast-travel point becomes usable after The Ride, and its open-world activities can be approached as part of ordinary Santo Domingo exploration.

For a completionist run, finish the following before entering the game’s point-of-no-return sequence:

The evidence available here does not establish a unique permanent missability trigger for Republic East. The cautious recommendation is based on general open-world completion practice, not on a documented Republic East-specific lockout.
